Meet Pastor Bernice Thomas

Bernice moved to Lacota,  Michigan in 1968 from Chicago IL. She now resides in Pullman, MI, with Edgar her husband of 41 years. They have two sons and daughters-in-laws: Mark and Angie, and Eric and Theresa, one grandson, four granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren.

Bernice loves the Lord and from a young age she accepted the Lord. When she moved to Michigan she joined Kibbie Community Church under the leadership of Rev. Mary Roland. Her life has taken her through many changes and to different churches, (she always says that God showed her what to do and what not to do)

After many years she returned to her roots at Kibbie Community Church, and served from the Usher board to the Sunday School Superintendent. Then in 1999 she received her call to the ministry, she understudied under the Senior Pastor for three years. In 2001, she became Minister to the Women, and in 2002 she was ordained to the office of Assistant Pastor.

In 2005, God called her and 12 others to start a new ministry; which today is known as Greater Faith Community Church.

We minister in the Nursing Home, Hand 2 Hand backpack ministry in the Pullman School district, Hungry For Christ Mobile Food Pantry held the 2nd Monday of every month at Casco UMC,  and a Christmas ministry at Kibbie Christian Reformed.  We also support the Cub Scouts in Pullman, We Care INC, Love INC Pullman, The Jewish Voice, and Life Today water wells worldwide.

Pastor Bernice Thomas has a vision for the church, to make disciples that Love the People, Live the Word, and Teach the Word.
